In Zechariah 4:6 we read that God said, “Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the Lord of hosts.”
That is how Gideon was able to send home thousands upon thousands of soldiers and defeat the enormous Midianite army with 300 soldiers carrying nothing but torches, trumpets and clay pots.
That’s what we see going on with a widow and a jar of oil with a prophet of God to call.
That’s what we see in a strong (although foolish) man like Samson who had nothing but long hair and the fact that God told him to grow it.
That’s what we see in a guy with leprosy and obeying a command to dip 7 times in a dirty river;
That’s what we see in a young man with a sling, some skill, 5 smooth stones and a burr in his britches about the honor of God being blasphemed. David said, “I don’t need Saul’s armor”. Why? Because it’s not by might, nor by power but by the Spirit of the Lord of hosts.
It was the Spirit of God that enabled an apostle (who used to support the stoning of Christians) to be stoned to the point that they dragged him out of the city thinking he was dead and yet he got up went right back to preaching the next day.
That same Spirit of God is with us and in us if we are in Christ. Now, what was that thing you thought to be such a big hurdle?
