You’ve seen the mission statements of some churches: “Love God, Love People”. That has a nice ring to it and it is based upon the teaching of Jesus that the Law and the prophets are summed up in the commands to love God and love our neighbors as we love ourselves (Matt. 22:37,38).
Our culture is obsessed with redefining things. In recent years they’ve redefined marriage. They’ve redefined it to the point that marriage means almost nothing. They are now redefining genders to where being male or female according to ones chromosomes means nothing. AND on top of it all, they have redefined love to mean total acceptance and sanctioning of any and all behaviors and lifestyles. So they’ve redefined love to the point that it means nothing.
Against all of these changes, Jesus (God the Son) quoted God the Father and said, “…a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to His wife” (Matt. 19:5). God’s word says in Gen. 1:27, “…male and female He created them.” The Apostle Peter said, “All flesh is like grass and all its glory like the flower of grass. The grass withers and the flower fall, but the word of the Lord remains forever.” (1 Peter 1:25).
