Madison Christian Church

Devotional/Sermon Summary for Nov. 27, 2017

This is a summary of my “Off the Grid Sermon” from yesterday. I’d like for you to prayerfully consider these thoughts. To work the works of Him who sent His Son Jesus (John 9:4) to the best degree we can the following things must be in place here at MCC: Be Willing to Change The Things That Can Change (see 1 Cor. 9:22 for what could be an example from the Apostle Paul in this way; the only thing that cannot be changed is Scripture and its teachings – nothing that is a violation of God’s word should be acceptable to us; but it’s open season on anything else); Seek To Be A Blessing To The Church, Not To Be Blessed By The Church (see Eph. 4:16 and 1 Cor. 12:7….the irony is if we do this we will be blessed!); Be Kind (see Philippians 2:14 “Do everything without complaining or disputing.”; Also Eph. 4:29…Christians cannot be bitter and divisive people; If we have a problem with someone, we should go to them not to others – Matthew 18:15); Let’s Actually Reach Out To Others and Not Just Talk About It (see Philemon vs. 6…we should seek to become effective in sharing our faith); Be Joyful Or Move On (see Acts 2:46; 13:52…seek to be a joyful church and work out differences of opinions and divisions with other believers here; but IF for some reason you continue to be miserable here and cannot support the leadership – you need to find a place where you can have the joy you should have and the respect for the leadership).

We want to help bring all Christians into unity. That should be possible since we have the Holy Spirit! The Elders here (Me, Ted & Rory) and Isaac want to know if you are with us in doing the works of God here at MCC and moving His kingdom forward. We are committed to doing what we believe God wants us to do in loving Jesus, striving to live like Him and leading others to do the same.
